What a change in the weather!<\/p>\n
Saturday worked out ok for weather. It was a little warm and humid, but it was not a wet one. Later Saturay night we did have a line of storms come through that put on a pretty good sky show, but we were between cells and it did not rain here. There was yellow and orange on the radar so it rained pretty good in surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
I recalled seeing the distant lightning flashes Saturday night, but there was no rain. A friend e-mailed to ask about it, and I looked at archived radar loops and sure enough there was a fast moving storm Saturday night. The flashes that they & I were seeing at about 10:30pm were actually lightning from the storm while it was near Crandon. With a strong storm you get high cloud tops and the lightning projects a long way.<\/p>\n
The storm did wonders for the weather. It was like opening the door to another season when I walked out of the door Sunday morning. It was nice out but not hot or humid. It was almost cold, something very welcome after our recent spell of heat & humidity.<\/p>\n
The week ahead looks a lot cooler than last week. It is still summer, so we will see temps get into the 80s, but not the 90s. There is a chance of rain about Wednesday and again late week. Both storms show 0.5″ or better QPFs. The late week storm bears watching in that the models have it clearing out of our area early Saturday morning. There is a slight chance of rain lingering into Saturday, otherwise the weekend looked ok from here. We will want to keep an eye on the timing of the late week storm.<\/p>\n

August 21 Curve Inn Resort<\/a><\/strong> Well the weather outside is too nice to pass up. Right now Waubeno and Shawano are showing temps under 70, and Athelstane Weather just crossed to 70.
