Heads Up!! High water this weekend!
It is raining and not just a little. The Peshtigo will be on the rise and coming up fast.
The Peshtigo was already at 400cfs and rising this morning. That is great all by itself.
Sometimes we get weather here where thunderstorms line up like train cars on a track and hit our area one wave after the next. That is what is going on this morning. It has been raining and rumbling for a couple of hours now. It started about 9am and it is going strong at noon.
I just checked the radar rainfall estimates and the near watershed that will raise the river for Saturday already has an inch plus, and the far watershed that takes a few days has 1.5-2″. Hopefully it will get it over and done with today!
Anyway, it is raining a lot. The river will be coming up fast, and a rising river is a fun river for whitewater. Rafting and paddling should be very good this weekend.
I saw on Facebook where they have a Menominee River special for something like $10 off this weekend.

hey, just wondering what the bridge is reading? i see, as i type this, it’s running about 1180 CFS with more storms over your area….. 15-20 inches?? i’m thinking of coming up in 2 weeks. haven’t rafted the pesh in several years and i’m due!!
