Greetings and welcome!

A quick update with lots of stuff..

First up the weather.. it could almost get up to 50 today. The hook is that it will be windy with gusts of 30 mph or more. Sunday it is only expected to get up to 29 and the wind could gust up to 40 or 45. Saturday night has a low of 27 and a 40% chance of rain or snow.

It is supposed to get more normal for temperatures next week.

I saw an interesting series of articles about our cold fall weather. They suggested that the wavy jet stream associated with a solar minimum was responsible for the late return of Arctic sea ice as well as our much below normal temperatures. The warm air went north to the Arctic and we got the Arctic stuff. Some places in the central US marked temperatures as much as 45 degrees below normal and long time records were being crushed across the central and western US. See Wattsupwiththat.com.

I guess that I should be thankful that it isn’t December or January- we could have been in for 6 weeks of that low of -30 high of -5 cold weather.

We set our clocks back at 2am tonight. Welcome to sunset at 4:40pm, and by the end of November 4:13pm. Not a fan.

Tonight is a full moon and a blue moon. That doesn’t mean that the moon will be turning blue, it means that it is the second full moon of the month.

There is live music tonight at Rapids Resort, Trailside Bar in Crooked Lake, and at The Drunken Pig. Many other bars are having DJs and costume parties. Woody’s, Backwoods, and the old Tommy’s Corner Pub (Uncle Mikes?) come to mind.

The Oconto County ATV trails close for the season Nov 1st. The Mountain lookout tower closes for the season tonight at sunset. Not sure today is a good day to visit tho.. might be a lot like a theme park ride with 30+ mph wind gusts.

Have a great weekend and thank you for visiting!
