Greetings and welcome!
The Silver Cliff centennial celebration was a huge success. The parade was as big as I have ever seen it and there were some really cool floats. People loved the fireworks, and the picnic was very busy. Hats off and thank you to everyone that made it such a huge success.
This morning we have quite a bit of rain. It started last night and it looks like it will continue for most of the day. That is a good thing on several levels. First of all we needed the rain. It was getting pretty dusty on gravel roads and the rivers are getting pretty low.
Then there is the smoke. There are wildfires up by the Boundary Waters area in Minnesota and up in Canada and yesterday a lot of that smoke got blown down into our area. This was the view yesterday at about noon. It otherwise would have been a sunny blue sky day. Happily the rain will help to wash the smoke away.
This weekend is the Marinette County Fair in Wausaukee. Here is a link to the happenings.
Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
